Brian Spears has been an outdoor enthusiast and an amateur naturalist from a very young age. His interests range widely, from trees and shrubs to all sorts of animals, living and extinct, but his favorites are birds and fish. Brian holds a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences from the Oregon State University, and has worked with the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in the Fish Research and Collections Laboratory. He considers life-long learning, particularly learning about the world around us, as one of life’s greatest joys. Sharing that joy with his wife, four children, family and friends is why he writes this little natural history blog.
